Report: Acura developing new sportscar to slot below NSX
Patent images of Acura sportscar emerges online
Acura may be planning to release another sportscar as what appear to be patent images of an upcoming concept from the automaker recently surfaced on the web.
Looking a lot like a smaller version of the next-gen NSX in term of design, the concept car may slot below the higher-tiered NSX but may have similarity in performance. The rear-end of the concept marginally differs from the NSX as it has large air vents that protrude from the bodywork along with a diffuser.

Power will likely come from a hybrid powertrain though exact engine details were not provided.

But according to a previous report, Acura parent company Honda seems to be developing a spiritual successor of the S2000 that will come in the form of a hybrid sportscar. It will reportedly be using the same NSX architecture but will be powered by either the Civc Type-R's 2.0-liter turbo unit, or the smaller 1.5-liter turbocharged engine from the Civic Concept.
