Report: Haas F1 team eyeing Romain Grosjean
Delays in the Renault-Lotus F1 deal has left Grosjean thinking of other options for 2016

Haas F1 team is busy prepping for their 2016 Formula 1 debut and it appears that a certain French racing driver has caught the attention of the American racing team.
According to Motorsport.com, Haas made it clear that they want experienced drivers on their roster and Grosjean is one of the best contenders for the team. Haas is reportedly in talks with Grosjean to switch over to them after his contract expires with Lotus.
Earlier on, Grosjean said that he would love to be a part of the new Renault F1 team once it takes over the current Lotus F1 team. However, the numerous delays in finalizing the Renault-Lotus deal has left Grosjean thinking of other options.
Aside from Romain Grosjean, other drivers such as Kevin Magnussen (son of 4-time Le Mans champion Jan Magnuessen), Jean-Eric Vergne (currently drives for DS Virgin in Formula E) and Esteban Gutierrez (former Sauber F1 driver turned Ferrari test and reserve driver) are reportedly pushing to be a part of Haas.
Gunther Steiner, team principal of Haas, stated they have to make a decision this month after failing to acquire Nico Hulkenberg who decided to stay with Force India until 2017.
“We are still aiming for September. Obviously it is a very important decision for us and we are not rushing into, but we are still aiming for September,” said Steiner.
