The Audi R8 LMS Cup had an eventful debut at the Fuji International Speedway in Japan. Andre Couto managed to have a start-to-finish win in round 3, while Alex Yoong emerged victorious in round 4.
In round 3, Couto started in pole position and led the pack until the chequered flag. He even recorded the fastest lap time in round 3 as Marchy Lee did his best to grab the lead from him. Despite his best effort, Lee finished in second place.

The battle for third was intense during round 3, as several cars constantly competed for third position. Adderly Fong strategically used his push-to-pass boosts to maneuver his way from ninth position to third.
Alex Yoong, Rachel Frey, Sun Zheng and Aidan Wright were the other drivers who battled for third. However, Wright was forced to retire after Yoong lost control of his car that hit him.
In round 4, Yoong managed to take the lead from third position after the first turn and lead all the way to the chequered flag. Couto could not add to his earlier win as he had made contact with Lee during the battle for second place. With this, both drivers were forced to retire early from the race.

This paved the way for the Swiss female driver, Rachel Frey, who worked her way up from seventh to second place. She drove steadily to maintin her position ahead of Kyong-Ouk, You.
After rounds 3 and 4, Audi TEDA Racing Team's Alex Yoong is leading the driver standings with 65 points, followed by Castrol Racing Team's Rachel Frey with 60 and Audi R8 LMS Cup Team's Cheng Congfu with 48.
Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2014 Audi R8 LMS Cup will be on August 15 to 17 in Sepang.
