Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has launched the 2016 RAV4, featuring a refreshed look that aims to capture the compact SUV's sporty character.
Design-wise, Toyota says the 2016 RAV4 comes with an “unconstrained” and “youthful vibe.” Compared to its predecessor, the most obvious change done to the 2016 RAV4 is the front fascia, as seen in its slimmer grill, reshaped headlights and a new bumper design.
Toyota says the 4x2 Premium and 4x4 Premium variants are available with daytime running lights and LED headlamps. The 2016 RAV4 sits on a set of 17-inch aluminum wheels.

In terms of dimensions, the 2016 RAV4 measures 4605mm long, 1845mm wide and 1715mm tall (1685mm for 4x2 Active+ and 4x2 Active variants) with a wheelbase of 2660mm.

Toyota adds that the 2016 RAV4 is equipped with safety features such as knee airbags, front-side-curtain airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), hill-climb assist control (HAC) and downhill assist control (DAC).

The 2016 RAV4 is powered by the same 2.5-liter dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing-Intelligent) engine that delivers 180 PS and 233 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The RAV4 is available in 4 new colors: Blue Metallic, Orange Metallic, Dark Red Mica Metallic, and Bronze Metallic. Aside from the mentioned new hues, the other standard RAV4 colors are still available such as the Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Black Mica and White Pearl (additional PhP 15,000).
Pricing for the 2016 RAV4 are as follows:
4x2 Active PhP 1,263,000
4x2 Active+ PhP 1,441,000
4x2 Premium PhP 1,863,000
4x4 Premium PhP 2,066,000
