Hyundai appears keen on entering the hot-hatch segment after our spies were able to snap new photos of the upcoming 2017 i30 N.

The hot hatch is still heavily camouflaged but we now have a better idea of what it will eventually look like. Set to debut in 2017, the i30N gets an aggressive bodykit which matches perfectly with the front fascia. Also different on the new i30 spy shots were the larger alloy wheels with blue inlays.

Other highlights seen on the hot hatch include the deeper front spoiler, additional front air intakes, wider side sills and the twin exhaust pipes.

In review, the 2017 i30N will supposedly have an output rating that will range from 243 – 263 PS thanks to a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. Apart from the uprated motor, the hot hatch will also benefit from several upgrades like a more sensitivemechanical power steering, more direct gearshift, stiffer engine and transmission mounts, and a new front axle knuckle for improve cornering as such.

As far as gearbox options are concerned, 'N'' head brand and former BMW 'M'' chief engineer Albert Biermann said it will be offered with a manual transmission. But Biermann also did say that it could be available with a sporty automatic gearbox.

There will be two variants available; the base model N and the performance pack N. It's unclear however what will be the differences between the two.
