Nissan's racing arm and tuning division, Nismo, will soon build and sell more cars in the future. This will be made possible with Nismo Cars Business Department, a new business unit that will develop, build and sell Nismo-tuned automobiles for the public market.

“As a Nissan sub-brand, Nismo further builds upon the core values of Nissan cars. With the combined expertise of Nissan group companies, Nismo road cars will make customers enjoy Nissan cars more than ever,” said Takao Katagiri, president and CEO of Autech Japan and Nissan Motorsports International.

The automaker also laid out a detailed plan as to how will they do it. They plan to expand the range of Nismo vehicles to other segments, market them on a global scale and boost the lineup in existing markets (Japan, North America, Europe and the Middle East). Moreover, Nismo also plans on developing more appealing products in a shorter time.

Currently, the tuning division rolls out about 15,000 units a year. Available Nismo models today include the GT-R, 370Z, Juke, Sentra, Note and the Patrol.

The new business unit will work with Nissan Motorsports International in marketing. This will allow Nismo to display their cars at Nissan dealerships, showrooms and in events for Nismo car owners.
