New York 2013 Preview: Jaguar expands performance lineup with the XJR
550PS XJR becomes the brand's flagship sedan
Jaguar will be expanding its R performance line-up soon with the global debut of the XJR at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. At the show, the brand's flagship XJ series sedan will be unveiled wearing Jaguar's R badge to signify its overall increase in performance.
The XJR now boasts of a 550PS 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that sits atop a bespoke chassis. Aerodynamic qualities are also reportedly improved making it most focused, agile, and responsive Jaguar XJ ever made.
“The new XJR epitomises the three pillars of technology, performance and contemporary design which the Jaguar brand stands for in the twenty-first century, while delivering new levels of dynamic ability in a luxury saloon.”says Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director of Jaguar.
The XJR will be sharing Jaguar's floor space with the brand's other All-Wheel Drive sedans and the F-TYPE sports car.
