MIAS 2016: Hyundai Veloster
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai in the Philippines, has just launched the Veloster for the domestic market. HARI officially announced the Veloster today April 7, at the 2016 Manila International Auto Show.
The 2016 Veloster is vehicle that derives its name from two words: Velocity and Roadster. Hyundai characterizes the Veloster as an aggressively styled hatchback with a wide stance and bold details to deliver an unconventional appearance. The most unusual design aspect of the Veloster is its asymmetrical door configuration; two doors on the left and one on the right.

Powering the Veloster is a 1.6-liter turbocharged direct injection engine that makes 204 PS. A seven-speed dual clutch gearbox sends drive to the front wheels. Other standard features for the Veloster include a fully automatic climate control system, LED projector headlamps, a 7-inch multi-information display, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS), Hill start Assist Control (HAC), and many more.
The Hyundai Veloster has been available in other markets since 2011. The GDi engine has been the primary reason for the long wait for the Veloster, as it requires Euro-4 fuels as standard for long-term reliability.
