Mercedes-Benz releases 'spy shots' of upcoming sports car concept
New model rumored to be named GT to succeed SLS AMG coupe
Mercedes-Benz has released 'spy shots' of what appears to be a sports car in the making. Realizing that the model would eventually be spied, the German automaker took their own shots of the car driving around the AMG facility to create their own fanfare for the upcoming sports coupe.

The model albeit looking like a smaller car, is said to succeed the current SLS AMG. Based on the spy shots, the new sports coupe seems to retain the basic shape of the SLS AMG, but will not have Gullwing doors. It seems to be a 2+2 with possibly an aluminium spaceframe for light weight.

What’s under the hood remains to be speculative. We surmise it will have twin-turbo V8 mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Since it was shot at the AMG facility, it should bear the badge produce in excess of 450hp and have a Black Series not too far away to challenge the Porsche 911 Turbo. Rumors have been circling around that the new model will be christened as the Mercedes-Benz GT.
