Mercedes-Benz debuts AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept

Mercedes-Benz debuts AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept
Playable in Gran Turismo 6
It seems Mercedes-Benz designers have been working on something rather special: a visionary concept of a super sports car with the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo. The model was debuted by Mercedes-Benz at the opening of their new Research & Development Center in California.

The 1:1 scale model of the super sports car makes use of gullwing doors, a variable LED radiator grille and other sleek details. Mercedes has envisioned the Vision Gran Turismo to have 585 PS and 800 Newton meters of torque from an AMG V8 twin turbo.
"By virtue of its proportions and expressive appearance, the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo embodies the brand's defining design philosophy of sensuous purity in a unique way. The design of this concept car reflects to extreme effect the perfect symbiosis between emotional, sensuous contours and intelligently presented high tech," says Gorden Wagener, Vice President Design Daimler AG.

It's not the first time that a car was developed for Gran Turismo, as carmakers have often designed their own concepts like the Citroen GT Concept and the Red Bull X2010 and X2011.

The car will be an integral playable model when Gran Turismo 6 debuts next month, just in time for the holidays. Fancy driving this on the High Speed Ring?
