A week after the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe debut, Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the C63 Coupe. Mercedes-Benz's performance arm has put in the C63 sedan's 4.0 liter BiTurbo V8 for the high performance coupe.

The C63 Coupe is set to make its first public appearance in next month's Frankfurt Motor Show. Like the sedan, the coupe gets AMG's cosmetic tweaks such as an aggressive front bumper, a front splitter and an aluminum powerdome hood. Finishing off the AMG touches is a grill that sports a small AMG badge to the right From the rear, The C63 is fitted with a trunk-mounted spoiler and a new rear bumper with a diffuser. The most obvious difference between the standard C-Class Coupe and the C63 coupe are the quad exhaust pipes just underneath the diffuser.

Inside, it shares the same interior as the C-Class coupe but with more sporting features such as aluminum and carbon-fiber trim. The C63 Coupe also gets a flat-bottom steering wheel trimmed in leather and alcantara as well as sport seats with taller seat bolsters for high performance driving. The instrument cluster features a vehicle information display that can measure g-forces and a carbon-fiber effect trim in the tachometer. AMG badging inside consists of a small pressing on the steering wheel and a badge on the center stack.

As previously mentioned, the C63 Coupe shares the same engine found in the sedan model. The 4.0 liter BiTurbo V8 produces 476 PS and 650 Nm of torque. Horsepower is up by 19 PS and torque figures are up by 50 Nm compared to the previous generation C63. The BiTurbo V8 is connected to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission. Mercedes-AMG claims the C63 Coupe can do 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h

Buyers can also opt for the S package which removes the speed limiter and adds more power. The BiTurbo V8 gets an upgrade and now makes 510 PS and 700 Nm of torque. Top speed is now at 290 km/h.

Mercedes-AMG has also revised the suspension from the standard C-Class Coupe. It comes with an AMG tuned suspension, a lighter, bespoke axle and axle housing, a wider track, stiffer elastokinematic tuning and more negative camber. It also gets an LSD, Dynamic engine mounts for the S model and AMG ride control.

Sales for the C63 Coupe will start in March 2016 for Germany.
