The new Ferrari California T may be set to debut at the 2014 Geneva International Motor Show in March, but today Ferrari gives us the glimpse of what their new model would look like. Ferrari says the California T has an improved cabin and a retractable hard top (RHT) that transforms the car into a top-down spider in a mere 14 seconds.

The design of the California T maintains the outgoing model’s overall dimensions. The California T has a length of 4,570 mm, a width of 1,910 mm, and a height of 1,322 mm. It was developed by Ferrari Styling Center in collaboration with Pininfarina. The shape of California T’s sides is inspired by the 250 Testa Rossa’s pontoon-fender styling that makes front wing line of the car to stretch back towards the rear. It is also designed with a triple-fence diffuser that adds to the solidity of the California T.

The interior of the car has an Frau semi-aniline leather trim and was designed to be as ergonomic as possible. Ferrari says California T’s cabin space provides owners with an efficient boot capacity even with the top down. The steering wheel of the car has a human-machine interface with integrated controls which gives a more precise handling. A Turbo Performance Engineer (TPE) is placed between the two air vents that provides engine information. Underneath the TPE is a touch screen infotainment system.

California T’s power is generated from its direct-injection, 3.8L turbo V8 engine that gives the car a 560 PS with 753 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Moreover, Ferrari says the California T cuts fuel consumption down by around 15 percent despite a 70 PS bump in power and a 49 percent increase in torque.

The California T will be available in either Rossa California, an intense, deep new red inspired by classic Ferraris; and a Blu California paint finish.
