Frankfurt 2015: Aston Martin DB11 set to arrive next year

Expect a new sports car from Aston Martin come 2016 after the company officially announced that the DB11 will be revealed next year.

“Today, I am proud and pleased to confirm that the DB11 nameplate will sit in on our next new car,” said Dr. Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin.

Exact details and images of the upcoming sports car were not provided but the company did say that it will be the first major product from the company's 'Second Century Plan'.

“Not only is it a sign of our intention to continue the long line of iconic sports cars that bear the ‘DB’ moniker – the very bloodline of our brand – but it also shows the world our ambitious plan in action,” added Palmer.

The DB11 is one of the many future models that is a part of Aston Martin's plan to overhaul its entire lineup which is a 'comprehensive strategy for the growth and development of the renowned British brand; and will ensure Aston Martin's sustainability and success'.

Apart from adding new nameplates, the plan will also result in the release of new powertrain technologies such as all-electric cars and even plug-in hybrid models.

“The coming years will see Aston Martin transform not only its entire range of models but also its scale and global presence, and the new DB11 will be central to that success,” said Palmer.
