Several weeks ago, Ford released a teaser video of the Ranger Raptor going over sand dunes in Australia. Soon however, the Philippine market will get their hands on the highly-tuned pickup.

Fans of the Ranger Raptor rejoice as Ford Group Philippines (FGP) has just annnounced that the high-performance pickup is set to arrive in the Philippines.

In a recent statement, newly-appointed managing director Bertrand Lessard said that the Ranger Raptor will arrive sometime in late 2018 or during the first quarter of 2019. Details about its inner workings remain a mystery though it's highly likely that it will get a beefed-up powertrain and suspension system.

Based on the photos, the Ranger Raptor will get thicker all-terrain tires, as well as an increased ride height. The dampers may well likely be provided by Fox as the USDM F-150 Raptor also uses Fox shock absorbers.

There is no word as to what engine powers the Ranger Raptor but the prototype does lack the familiar diesel clatter as heard in the video. This could mean that the Ranger Raptor could get an EcoBoost powertrain. Beyond that, the Ranger Raptor might also get the new 10-speed automatic which is also seeing use in the F-150 Raptor and 2018 Mustang.

The new transmission will also be seeing use in other 2018 models, not just the Ranger Raptor.

"I look forward to having you test drive the 2018 batch of models with the new 10-speed automatic to feel the difference," added Lessard.
