Another concept has risen from the longtime collaboration between Aston Martin and Italian design-house Zagato as the Vanquish Zagato Concept was launched at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, at Lake Como in Italy over the weekend.

The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept is the fifth vehicle to come out from this longtime partnership between Aston Martin and Zagato starting from the DB4 GT Zagato of 1960 through to the V12 Vantage Zagato of 2011.

Designed by the Aston Martin Design team led by Marek Reichman and the Zagato in Milan led by Andrea Zagato, and developed and engineered at Aston Martin’s headquarters in Gaydon, England, the Vanquish Zagato Concept comes with a jaw-dropping exterior that is as Aston Martin as it gets.

The new bodywork is full-on carbon fiber with the split lines on the body reduced by the use of large one-piece panels.

Lighting harkens back to the classic Zagato design with the use of round tail-light reflectors, all while incorporating LED technology from the Aston Martin Vulcan.

“Over the years, we have developed and refined our own design language and we have always gone that little bit further with our special series cars like CC-100, One-77 and Aston Martin Vulcan. The Vanquish Zagato Concept shows how our two companies can come together and push the definition of Aston Martin design. We pride ourselves on our strong partnership and the creation of the Vanquish Zagato Concept was a true shared experience,' says Zagato's CEO, Andrea Zagato, 'it represents the essence of an important design relationship that dates back over fifty years,” said Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman.

The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept takes the wing mirrors of the One-77, the aerodynamic profile of the DB11 including the retractable spoiler and rear hatch and the wrap-around glasshouse design from the CC-100.

It comes with quad-exhaust, carbon fiber sills around the lower body and the Aston Martin trademark double-bubble roof.

Inside, the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept is distinguished by the unique ‘Z’ quilt stitch on the seats, headrests, center console and door sections.

The V12 engine has been uprated to put out 600P PS and the driving dynamics enhanced to match its power and looks.
