Kia's B-segment hatchback will be all-new for 2017 after the automaker recently released renderings of the next-generation Rio. Slated to make its world debut at the 2016 Mondial de l'Automobile, the next-generation hatchback blends rounded shapes and sleek lines, along with a new cabin design.

According to the automaker, the 2017 Rio's exterior and interior design was penned by the company's design centers in Germany and California, with collaboration from their main design center in South Korea.

Up front, the all-new Rio sports a heavily revised tiger-nose grill and bigger wraparound headlights. Moreover, Kia also claimed that it will have a longer wheelbase, hood and front overhang. Compared to the current Rio, the next-generation hatch will have a more upright C-pillar which will give it a more balanced appearanced added the automaker.

Based from te cabin sketch, the 2017 Rio gets a revamped dashboard and instrument panel. It will come with new switch gears, touchscreen infotainment, multifunction steering wheel and gear shifter. Beyond that, the 2017 Rio will also benefit from the latest in in-car connectivity and a more sporty ride.

The next-generation Rio will enter production by the end of 2016 for Europe. Meanwhile, other market regions will start production at a much later date.

The 2016 Mondial de l'Automobile will be open to the public starting October 1, 2016.
